Accelerating Precision Nutrition — Helping the Next Generation Realize the Promise of Precision Medicine
This article discusses the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into precision nutrition to enhance personalized dietary recommendations. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) established the Nutrition for Precision Health (NPH) Consortium to develop models predicting individual responses to diets. By analyzing data from genetics, microbiome, dietary intake, and more, AI algorithms can provide tailored nutrition advice. This systems approach aims to move beyond the one-size-fits-all paradigm, offering culturally sensitive and realistic dietary recommendations to improve health outcomes across diverse populations.
